The Town Centre Consultation is now closed and the responses will be analysed to ascertain any favoured option. The analysis will be presented to the Town Council in March for any final decision to be reached, based on the favoured option within the results.
This Council decision will then be submitted to Essex Highways (being the highway authority), requesting them to implement changes as per the consultation; this will trigger a further statutory consultation process. This process may take some considerable time and changes may not be implemented for 12-18 months.
In the meantime, the current temporary road closures ended on Thursday 27th January, reverting back to pre-covid measures. This means the Market Square roads will reopen to parking all week, with the exception on Tuesday and Saturday Market Days
